Ian M. and I replaced more rotten fenceposts and more fencing wire today. This was largely up the side of the T.H.White boundary up towards the Vernal Lane kissing gate. It was pleasant to chat with Jo B. and Jennie O'K. again.

The gate between the Big Field and the Sledging Field near the water trough was replaced by the grazier yesterday. Because this gate will open into the Sledging Field he has secured it with a shackle, which you will only open with pliers.
We therefore intend to leave the fence open by the trough until just before the cows arrive.
We will be as fast as we can, but it does mean asking for volunteers from the Mendip Ramblers Team when some are available, as when we installed the gate by 126 Whatcombe Road. JY & IM
