The grazier Jim S. today mended the fence and gate between the Sledging Field and the large top field. At some stage the heifers will not be allowed into the Sledging Field so a plant survey can be undertaken. Please leave this gate shut if you find it shut. If it is locked please go round down via the footpath and stile, and access the field you want to enter via the small field where the fence has been removed (See picture below March 7th). Please also explain this to anyone you see contravening this request - or even bending or breaking the fence near the gate. Thank you.
Jim also removed the redundant gate by the public footpath near the recent spring drain which used to flood. If the cows damage the drain and its hardcore cover significantly I will try to install another stile as soon as possible.

Update 25/05/16 - so far with the cows there, no damage to the drain. A few displaced stones, nothing serious.
